Society can immensely benefit with new cheap electronic devices. This explosive growth of electronics has made e-waste an important issue. E-waste is a growing concern which needs to be tackled effectively. Industry, policy makers and consumers are giving much attention to this issue. There are many consumers who do not know the actual process of recycling old electronics safely. So, it is important that they gain knowledge on the issue.

What is e-waste?

Devices like stereo, mobile phones, televisions and dated computer equipments are known as e-scrap, e-waste and end-of-life (EOL) electronic devices. You can recycle or refurbish these devices, though there are still large amounts of e-waste yet to be dumped to landfills. The rate of recycling is still very inadequate due to improper knowledge of people about this process.

Why is electronics recycling important?

Rich Source of Raw Material

Only 10%-15% of gold can be recovered in e-waste worldwide. It is said that deposits of precious metals are contained by electronic waste that estimate between 40 and 50 times costlier and richer than the ores within the earth's surface.

Solid Waste Management

Solid electronic wastes have rapidly escalated due to the combination of short product life cycle and the explosive growth in the field of electronics industry.

Toxic Materials

Toxic materials such as mercury, lead, chromium and cadmium are contained by old electronic devices. So it is very essential to make sure that these electronic items go through proper processing, so that these devices do not release toxic gases in the environment. Potentially toxic chemical flame retardants and other heavy metals are also contained by these electronic devices as well.
International Movement of Hazardous Waste

This international movement of electronic waste is going uncontrollable in some countries. This is because of the availability of cheap labor and old approaches to recycling of electronic wastes. This has resulted in risks of health to the local inhabitants of these countries. It has become an issue of great concern because these local residents are continuously exposed to the release of harmful toxic gases in the environment.

How can consumers recycle their old electronic devices?

Many recycling opportunities have been accessed by consumers according to the places where they live. The best way is to give computer equipments to those who need them and that can be used or refurbished. Remove all the personal information from the devices before donating them. Electronic recycling, authorized electronic recycler locations or corporate take back programs are included in other recycling opportunities. You can also recycle your batteries and cellphones with the help of other recycling programs that are available to aid consumers.

Home Architecture is evolving and creating looks that are bold, inspiring, and functional. You'll be hard pressed not to find a look that you love with the kitchen remodeling trends that are taking shape all around the country. Color seems to be one strong trend, although used sparingly, that singlehandedly revives pretty much any area of your home.

Whether you are remodeling or having new home construction, you can design the interior and exterior of your home to evoke your senses with its transformation. Kitchens are the main domain of the home, and yours should be representative of you and your personality.

Function to Look: Have it All

Try adding a pop of color with new sinks that are designed to complement stark white cabinets with a playful touch. Offered in an array of metal types, you'll have a new design that is as unique as you and provides plenty of enjoyment with this personal touch.

New home construction is showcasing these trends and getting in on the fun by creating spaces that homeowners gravitate towards. Using floating cabinets and specialized storage features, kitchens are becoming workspaces that homeowners can depend upon for form and function.

Back to the Oldies with Automation

The future is here with automation taking center stage as a new design element. Automated faucets, lights, and cooking technologies allow you to work easier and more efficiently. That being said, old is new again as some homeowners are opting for a country style with farmhouse sinks that are now available in exciting new colors. These sinks add a rustic flair while giving you more versatility with deeper and wider openings to accommodate washing cookware from family meals.

Warm and Inviting Spaces

Commercial grade kitchen features are rivaling traditional elements with larger prep areas and improved work surfaces. Stainless is being combined with warmer finishes to create welcoming environments.

Neutrals are the old reliable and here to stay as they offer greater flexibility to decorate and change down the road. Pops of color are added with dishware and ornamental objects, giving you the ability to change with the trends of the season.

boat rentals marina del rey

Being in the open sea on a Sailboat, seeing the vast blue water that seems to stretch out to the horizon, gives a very soothing effect and just by imagining this scene we begin to relax. But why just imagine it and just dream about such a wonderful moment, when you can enjoy it? You do not have to own a boat to actually go and experience the wonders of the open sea; you can also rent a Sailboat. Sailboat charter can take you too many exciting places that may be unreachable by land. A Sailboats rental can also provide you with the exhilaration of being on a beautiful Yacht.

The Sailboat or sailing boat is a boat that is propelled when the wind hits the sail. Sailboat has been used since its discovery and is being used up till now. You can learn how to sail in a Sailboat in nick of time. Few basic pointers, when facing forward the right side of the ship is called the star board, there are two Sails one is the main sail and other is the Head sail. The big wooden poll on which both the main sail and the head sail is attached is known as the mast. There happens to be different types of Sailboats, like Sloop, Cutter etc. Sailboats are usually monohulls but nowadays people prefer multi-hull catamarans (Sailboats with two hulls) and trimarans (Sailboats with one main hull and two outrigger hulls).

The rent of the Sailboats depends upon what type of boat you want. Some Sailboats have larger front deck while some have smaller. The speed of the Sailboat depends upon the length of the head sails and the main sail, as, the bigger the sails the faster the Sailboats shall travel. But then there is also the matter of weight. Lighter Sailboats can travel faster even with a short sail, but then again it will limit the number of people sailing but if you decide to rent a big Sailboat it may tend to be comparatively slow than a small Sailboat, but then you would be able to increase the number of passengers.

Being wind powered doesn't mean that if no wind is blowing then you may be unable to travel. An engine is attached to the Sailboat for when there is no or less wind blowing that is not able to propel the boat. Also if you cannot maneuver a Sailboat a sailor will be provided to you. There are many famous boats manufactures who have been crafting boats for long. Their boats have been known for good quality both buying and for renting, some of the famous names include Albin, Bristol Yachts, C&C Yachts etc. So if you get a good rental bargain on any of the famous boats manufactures boats, you should go for it. Today a lot of Sailboats are on option which gives you the leverage of choosing the best you like. So stop waiting and live the dream of sailing and enjoying the open seas.

Symbolism of the World Cup FIFA Trophy?
The FIFA World Cup Soccer & Football Trophy is one of the worlds best know sports icons; popping up during every TLN sitcom & talk show, on the news every day, even being presented to one of the most loved and revered figures in the world today, Mr. Nelson Mandela. Now that the countdown to the World Cup Football Match in South Africa has begun, that little golden statue of two extraordinary humans holding up the whole planet in their up-stretched and very well sculpted arms, has even been showing up in some peoples dreams!

So what does a FIFA trophy dream mean?

I looked up "soccer trophy" in the "20,000 Dreams" book that interprets the symbols we see in our dreams. That exact phrase was not in the book, so I looked up all the different parts of the trophy including: soccer, trophy, gold, human, standing, earth and globe shape. If you are one of the many people who are having FIFA Trophy Dreams, then you will be interested to know just what that means. (other than the fact that the FIFA 2010 media campaign is working nicely).

According to the dream analysts:

Soccer (also know as football or futbol) dreams are suggestive of clever moves.

Trophy dreams are a sign of accomplishment and serve as motivational encouragement to keep striving.

Gold metal represents the financial elements of life.

Globe shapes, in this case the earth, portrays earthly matters that need attention, often this implies a more broad scope of events.

Earth symbolizes the human, physical, three dimensional, touchable aspects of our world.

Human figures - a human signifies an excuse for errors made.

Standing (which the two human figures of the trophy are doing) - shows an adherence to ones convictions.

That is all kind of interesting when you think about it in relation to the fact that this FIFA World Cup is taking place in South Africa this year. How profound! By the way, if Africa is in your dreams, it represents uncluttered thoughts and ideas.

SO, just to clarify, if that soccer trophy; that big golden earth held up by two small human athletes shows up in our dreams it could be interpreted to mean that we have accomplished a great deal, but must keep on striving. This brings to mind the late and legendary BOB Marley, who wrote many a burning lyric to strengthen the fight for freedom that took place back in the 60s & 70s, 80s & still. At Bobs memorial celebration & funeral, his wife Rita Marley wore a ball cap that said "WE MUST CARRY ON"

How true that was and what courage Rita showed to lead us forward, even as she buried her husband and the whole worlds friend. The struggle did not end with Bob Marley, but many battles were won and many more have been won since. Bob must have been so proud when South Africa was made a democracy that included all of the humans that lived there and also when Nelson Mandella was given his freedom back after decades of being locked up in prison. Freedom was gained on many fronts, but as the world now knows, freedom must be fought for again & again.

But I digress. Dreams around that trophy, which by the way is SOLID GOLD 18 Karats, also represent the financial arena, which of course is a very important matter, especially when we are talking about Africa. Though Africa remains the place on earth where the most insufferable human poverty, violence and corruption imaginable is still vastly ignored by the rest of the world, Africa is also the richest country on earth! When you look at the diamond, oil and gold assets of Africa, it is hard to imagine how that wealth is not making it's way to the people. Not the mothers, not the schools or hospitals, the roads or public health infrastructures.

As Marley sang some 30 years ago; "That bucket just keep on goin' to the west."

The fact that this gold has been molded into a representation of a globe shaped earth is clearly telling us that the earth and all of its inhabitants require attention to their physical situation. This little golden earth is being held up by two human figures who are both standing very tall which symbolizes that they are sticking to their guns or standing up for their rights, while the fact that they are human figures in the first place represents frailty and errors made.

Well this is incredible! When it comes to Africa, I can't imagine a place or a people so wronged in the history of the world. Colonization, prisoners & captives taken by the millions to North America, South America and the Caribbean Islands and the commercial resource extraction of all the very valuable minerals & petro chemicals and then the non-sharing of the wealth that resulted. Africa also became an enormous market dumping ground for expired & banned products, such as pharmaceutical medicines, pesticides and processed food, that were no longer legal or accepted for use in "the west". A large fortune has been made by "the west" through the selling of spare parts that were inevitably needed to repair all the old technology & machinery that was often "Gifted" to an African government as part of a western government's African humanitarian/economical aid program. Billions of dollars have been made this way.

It is intriguing to me that though all of this has been talked about for decades, these errors are still on-going today. I guess the two human figures representing the theme of "excuses for errors made" are spot on. Whenever you hear anyone try to talk about what needs to change to re-balance the people & economies of the African countries, you will always just hear excuses for why it can't ever be fixed. "Too many people need help and the world is not enough". "Too many different cultures to come together and unite for the common purpose". "Too much corruption in government." The excuse list goes on, but there's no need to write them all down.

So, when you see that little gold soccer trophy pop up on your TV screen, YouTube videos, magazine covers and fan photos, it is a call to take another look at how things are in Africa these days.

Though many celebrities and unknown heroes are working to turn the tide, a global event like World Cup Football may just act as a catalyst to millions more people asking this key question:

Who is getting all the wealth from the people, governments, incredibly rich resources and economies of the African nations?

When we can hold those entities of greed accountable, we may see a time when Africa and the African people will rise to their full magnificence and destiny as the great source of human knowledge and power. When we dream, let us dream of a golden earth, encircled by all human kind, sharing the frailty, the trouble and the wealth. Let us hold to our convictions that all people are equal and that extreme poverty next to such extreme wealth cannot be allowed in a sane world.

While billions will be spent for the World Cup Football Tournament in South Africa this year, will we ever really know where all that money went, who profited and who paid the bill?

Well, I guess we know that we will pay the bill. Here in Canada, where I live, we area already paying for our Winter Olympic Games held in Vancouver. School budgets have been cut, layoffs of gov't workers, teachers, public service employees and that is just since the end of February. It is a mystery to many, how the people of South Africa could possibly be further exploited and taxed to pay the bill for hosting the World Cup, building a huge world class stadium and all the new roads and infrastructure needed. It is also the hope of many that a new light of appreciation and understanding of the African people will shine as a result of the worlds attention focusing on them in a more positive and more celebratory way for that short window of time in June 2010.

games to play on paper

Worried about planning elaborate bridal shower games to play with your guests? If you are hosting a bridal shower, you are probably busy enough organizing invitations, food, decorations, and housecleaning! Here are 5 great bridal shower games that require little or no preparation on your part. Even if you've played them before, they are definitely "repeatable," and always a lot of fun!

1. Toilet Paper Wedding Dresses

Preparation time: None

Supplies: Rolls of toilet paper

Arrange your guests into groups of 4-5. Give each group a roll of toilet paper. Tell the groups they have 5 (or 10) minutes to dress one member of the group in the best possible wedding dress, made using only the toilet paper and anything else they may have in their purses. Then set a timer. When time runs out, ask each well-dressed guest to model her gown. Ask the entire group to vote on their favorite. The winning group receives small prizes, or goes first in line for refreshments.

2. Another Toilet Paper Game

Prepartion time: None

Supplies: 1 or 2 rolls of toilet paper

Pass the roll of toilet paper among the guests, instructing each person to "tear off as much as she thinks she needs."

When everyone has their share, go around the room and ask each person to share one piece of advice for the newlyweds for each square of toilet paper. Give a prize to the person with the best advice, funniest advice or most advice.

3. Bridal Shower Purse Game

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Supplies: Paper and pencils for each guest

Before the shower, make a list of about 20-25 items women carry in their purses. Be sure to list common as well as unusual items. Assign a point value to each one, giving the rarer items more points than the ordinary ones. To play the game, give each guest a piece of paper and a pencil. Call out each item on the list, along with its point value. If the guest has that item in her purse, she writes down the corresponding number of points. When you are done reading your list, each guest adds up her own score. The person with the most points is the winner.

4. How Well Do You Know the Bride?

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Supplies: Paper and pencils for each guest

Before the shower, make a list of about 20 questions about the bride and groom. Include information that most guests are sure to know, along with some that only a few will know. Include questions such as, "Where did the bride and groom first meet? When? What is the name of the groom's dog? What is the bride's middle name? Where are they going on their honeymoon?" and so on.

Note: Show your list of questions to the bride in advance, to make sure there is nothing that might become "awkward" for her or any of the guests. This can even be done right before the shower, so you can quickly change a question or two.

To play the game, read each question, giving each guest time to write an answer. If guests do not know the answer, encourage them to guess. These guesses can by themselves be hilarious enough to make the game a success! When you've asked all the questions, ask the bride to give her answers. Award a prize to the winner(s).

5. Were You Paying Attention?

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Supplies: Paper and pencils for each guest

Before the shower*, take a few minutes and make list of things that guests should be able to notice about the bride if they are paying attention. Write questions such as, "Was the bride wearing a necklace? What color are her shoes? How many rings is she wearing? Is she wearing any lipstick? and so on.

Partway through the shower ask the bride to leave the room. Give the guests paper and pencil. Ask your questions, allowing just enough time for guests to write brief answers. Then call the bride back into the room. The right answers will become very apparent! Award a prize to the winner(s).

*Or, write the questions quickly after the bride arrives, so you can tailor your questions more precisely.

There are many, many other great bridal shower games to play, but few are easier than these. So relax, and enjoy the role of bridal shower hostess!

Volunteer in belize

Sometimes we come across people who spend their free time volunteering in different organizations and charitable institutions. Sometimes too, we learn of people who volunteer in neighborhood drives; whether it's a clean-up drive; a fund raising for the community or even spending a few hours helping neighbors take care of their overwhelming chores.

The possibilities of volunteering are endless. But really, Why Is Volunteering Important? Why do people do it; and some don't? What can we get out of volunteering our time, effort and sometimes even our resources?

THE REWARDS OF VOLUNTEERING

Volunteering not only works for those receiving help but also those who do different kinds of volunteering acts. Truth be told, when faced with the question of Why Is Volunteering Important; there are many reasons why it is beneficial to all concerned.

Firstly, when we volunteer our time for a good cause; the rewards we reap are far greater than any promotion we could get from work; or good grades we get from school.

People who volunteer can't help but feel just a little bit more positive about life. When we see the dire straits of others; we feel lucky and blessed to have a better life.

Another reason on Why Is Volunteering Important is that we imbibe in others the spirit of generosity - of giving back to others; even strangers, all the good things we have received in life. It's paying it forward as volunteers would often tell people who ask Why Is Volunteering Important to them?

Still perhaps to others, when asked Why Is Volunteering Important; we say that its importance lies in showing those who need help that the world is still a beautiful place to live in. It's validating that no matter what kind of tragedy strikes; there would always be a silver lining to every rain cloud.

Volunteering also gives hope to those who may have lost all hope to live; who may have lost their trust on humanity. We may even be instrumental in inspiring others to pick up their lives and start over; and perhaps also inspire others to volunteer their time, talent and resources.

WHERE CAN WE VOLUNTEER?

If we want to volunteer but don't know where to start; we can always check out different organizations on the internet where they could use all the volunteer help they can get. These could be helping save animals; making the elderly feel loved and happy again; or we can simply check out our own community and see where we can help.

We don't have to start big when considering Why Is Volunteering Important and where we can share whatever we have to the less fortunate. Volunteering to help a friend; a family member; giving our time to school activities; and even simply helping someone at random are already good acts of volunteering.

cheapest 55 printing

It is common knowledge that you get good discounts with wholesale orders. In the world of printing, such deals are made possible by offset printing. You can order 500 copies and get low costs for each piece, and if you double the quantity, you get twice the amount but only shell out a few dollars more. That's a good option, especially if you need thousands of copies. But what if you need ten or less, or even one copy? It would be impractical and uneconomical to order one offset piece of, say, a canvas print. The cost of your printing project would go sky-high. It's a good thing that there are ways to get cheap canvas printing deals even at small quantities.

Cheap deal

Offset printing is a relatively more intricate process than digital printing since the former goes through film making, color separation and printing using multiple transfers of images within the process.

Digital printing technology, on the other hand, does things a little bit differently.

o Turnaround time

Canvas prints processed through digital printing are completed at a much shorter span of time since it does not include some of the steps done in offset printing. For one, images are directly printed on the stock so production time is less.

Many printing companies offer a 1-business day turnaround time which means that your order gets processed within a 24-hour period. This includes printing and cutting. Once the turnaround period is done, this is followed by shipping, or the print is ready for pickup. Short turnaround times allow you to get your canvas prints really fast. If you are in a hurry, you can avoid paying big money on rush orders.

o Cost

Since the setup process is shorter, it employs fewer materials so the initial canvas print would cost significantly less than it would if it were printed through offset. For offset printing, majority of the expense goes to the setup cost while ink and stock are the main dictators of the final cost of a digital print.

In effect, you pay a flat rate for digital printing. For offset printing, the high cost of the first print is distributed with the succeeding canvas prints.

There are two other features of digital printing that make it possible for you to get cheap canvas printing deals.

o Short run printing

There are occasions wherein you need only a few printouts, especially with large format ones. So it is convenient and inexpensive if you will not be obliged to order more than you need and hence, pay more than what your budget would allow. Digital printing and short run prints go hand in hand. You can order between one to a hundred canvas prints at affordable rates.
